Living with Grace
Speaker: Emily Quarles-Mowrer
In its entry on the history of the Unitarian Universalist movement, Wikipedia says, “Despite its name, this denomination does not necessarily promote either belief in one God, or universal salvation.” While it is true that we do not hold our members to specific beliefs, I would argue that the aim of our seven principles, to create a peaceful and just world community, is its own form of Universalism. Join us as we compare Philip Gulley and James Mulholland’s book on modern Christian universalism, “If Grace is True,” to our Unitarian Universalist beliefs on justice, equity, compassion and encouragement to spiritual growth.
Third Sunday Potluck will follow the service.
