Quantum Mechanics Guest Speaker: Neil Shea, PhD, Professor of Physics, Kutztown University

Lay Leader: Allan Pallay

Quantum Mechanics is the science of matter at the atomic and sub-atomic scales. The basic starting point for QM is the Uncertainty Principle which places limits on how accurate our observations can be. This gives nature a kind of fuzzy appearance. This is why a particle such as an electron has no well-defined location but may appear to be extended somewhat over space. These conclusions and others have led some to find this image of nature strange. The observations that we make and the conclusions that we draw are perceptions, not reality. The reality is best left to metaphysics.
